  1. Cafe Bernardo Midtown

I have to admit, I don't come here for the coffee, it's the food-and if you sneak over to the adjacent Monkey Bar, make sure to grab one of the best Bloody Marys in town. This has long been a favorite Sunday brunch hangout. They have an awesome eggs benedict, real maple syrup to pour on your blueberry pancakes, and homemade granola with options of seasonal fruit and yogurt. You must order at the counter and make sure to clearly display that playing card! It's the only way the runners will know what table to deliver your food to. Make sure to check out their selection of salads and pizzas for a casual lunch or evening snack.
  2. Tea Cozy

This has been the only place I have bought tea for the five+ years I have been living Downtown. My brother, who lives in Portland and who has been my teacher when it comes to tea, swears by them. If you are tea-specific, The Tea Cozy has the best selection. The owners also happen to be one of the nicest couples I've ever met. I always walk out with a smile, if nothing else.

When in doubt, Shop the Grid!

That's right, shop locally, then regionally; vote with your dollar. On your way around The Grid and amidst the Sactown shopping maze, get some good advice from the fashion queens at Twin Soup. They can kick their high heels like no other.
